What up B??

We caught up with Bianca Jordaan recently to find out how her recovery is going. 

She reached her 12 week date post surgery on Dec 28 and was given the go ahead to start jogging.  She did lots of that on the beach in Cuba during a recent family vacation.  She jogged everywhere.  She is doing easy and basic skills on bars but will have to wait another 3 months before she is allowed to touch any other equipment or attempt tumbling.  She conditions 5 days a week with basic skills and does physio 3 times a week.  At physio she has taken to the pool and loves it.  She will be visiting Eastern Michigan this coming weekend to go watch a NCAA competition and hope to see Nikki Patterson compete.  Bianca is gearing up to write her SATs this month.  It sounds like Bianca might be gearing up for university gymnastics somewhere in her future?!?

Kathryn Doran and Team Ontario Golden!!

Beam Day 1

The National Stream Cup took place this past weekend at Futures Gymnastics Club in Mississauga.  Day one consisted of the team and all around competition.  Team Ontario came out on top and were the gold medal winners while Kathryn took the bronze in the all around.  The top eight on each event during the team/AA competition qualified for event finals on Sunday.  Kathryn was one of only two girls to qualify for all four event finals!  Kathryn hit four for four on day two and won gold on BARS and BEAM , bronze on floor and finished 5th on vault!!  Congratulations Kathryn on your fantastic results!!

Oshawa Provincial Qualifier

4 Gold, 11 Silver and 19 Bronze medals for our provincial girls at their second qualifier!!!  Well done ladies!!

Also competing in Oshawa and qualifying for Elite Canada were Kathryn Doran and Mariana Colussi Paleaz.  Elite Canada will be held at Gymnastics Mississauga February 17th, 18th and 19th.
